Les Alpes

FOCUS.

Loads of exciting stuff has been happening since the British Champs in July!

The fourth round of the Scottish series was at Ae Forest a few weeks after the Champs. I travelled down in the University bus with some lads from the club. Was great to have them there supporting (heckling) the racing.

Drop off - spot the broken arm!

The track was awesome! Everyone was loving it. Off camber and dry with the big step down jump Ae is famous for. My racing went really well and I finished 1st by almost 8 seconds with 2.22 (middle of the boys times too!) so was really happy with my performance. It was a great weekend having a good laugh and camping with the other girls too.

Highland IT support Ltd have been really generous and donated £100 towards my racing expenses. They are based in Inverness and provide a service for computer/laptop repairs and technical problems.

A massive thank you to them, I'm really grateful for their contribution and hope to do them proud!

Super Morzine, France.

Straight after racing at Ae I jumped in the car with some mates and we drove to Morzine in the Alps. I can't even begin to explain how much fun the trip was.

Riding there is incredible, you will never get bored. There is such a mix of trails and terrain. Beautiful views and sweet weather.

We were living true DH style in a van which added to the fun. I have met some amazing people who I just know I'm going to see more of. My riding has improved so much, feeling even fitter and confident after hitting some pretty big stuff on the French trails.

My ancient 224 from 2009 has survived...just. Hopefully we will make it safely through Fort William SDA in a few weeks!

Emma Whitaker made a nice little edit of me while staying with her, Hannah and Cardiff (amazing girl shredders!) in Chatel. Massive thank-you to them for being so helpful and supportive. Check it out!

Emma has also written a sweet blog review on me which I'm so grateful for! Got some sweet pics too! Follow the link: Emma Atkinson Article

I'm beginning the search for sponsorship now. After working really hard this year and seeing the results I am more determined than ever to make it big in the world of Downhill Racing.

My plans for 2014 are to race the full British Series and the Scottish and British Champs and I am aiming to be racing World Cups in 2015.

Earlier this summer I did an evening XC ride with Progression Bikes in Dunkeld. Adam knows the trails like the back of his hand and was a super guide. The big climb was worth it for the nice decent with lots of roots and lovely views.

Check out his website and go visit the shop! They have hire bikes available and do guided rides.

My final race this season is at Fort William on the 8th September - hoping to take the over-all Scottish Series title 2013! If you want to watch a DH race, this is the one! The track is world famous!
